BRIDGE Bank and EAMU Partner to Provide Internship Opportunities.

Phnom Penh – BRIDGE Bank, a leading commercial bank that offers comprehensive banking services, has partnered with East Asia Management University (“EAMU”) to provide internship opportunities as well as knowledge sharing and mentorship to their students. The collaboration between the bank and the university will offer students an opportunity to gain practical experience and a better understanding of the financial industry. To formalize this partnership, the management of the bank and the university presided in the auspicious Memorandum of Understanding that was signed at the Bridge Bank headquarters on Monday 22nd January 2024.
The Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) was signed at the Bridge Bank headquarters by the bank management and the university representatives. “This is the first MOU that the bank has partnered with a university. We believe that Bridge Bank will be a place where we can groom many young new talents in Cambodia in the financial sector to develop this sector even better in Cambodia,” said Mr. Richard Liew, the CEO of Bridge Bank.
Mr. Richard Liew further added that the university has been playing a key role in ensuring the pipeline of talent in Cambodia, and he emphasized the importance of nurturing future talent in the workforce to take Cambodia forward through integrated education in the private sector. This collaboration between the academia frontier and industry is especially significant in maintaining Cambodia’s competitive edge, through producing the next generation of talented students who are thriving to produce new ideas, products, and services, at the speed necessary for market growth.
The partnership between Bridge Bank and EAMU will provide students with further competencies and preparation for their prospective vocation in the banking industry. The students will be trained according to international banking curriculum standards, which will cover lending and regulatory compliance. Education is one of the primary goals in Cambodia, and this collaboration is in line with the long-term strategy to support the development of capabilities for the stability of the country’s banking system said Prof. James Chua, Vice Chancellor of EAMU.
